The root of all anxiety and fear is a misunderstanding of time.
The past and future do not exist in the present, but we believe and act as if they do. We focus on the past, regretting or feeling nostalgic; or on the future, fearing or fantasizing. We judge the present by the past, and set expectations for the future. We distort reality and ruin the moment — all thanks to our past conditioning, and slavery to thought.
And yet, realizing this isn’t enough to free us. The game has more levels before the shackles come off.
